About Us

In 2015, as part of the Western Allegheny Community Library’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, a small group of residents from the West Allegheny community’s put together panels representing the history of the three West Allegheny communities. From that small group of residents, a Historical Society was formed.

Our purpose was to tell a story of our community’s past through pictures, articles, and programs, along with expanding the group to further explore the wealth of information from the past that the area in which we reside has to offer.
 

We hope that you will “Step Into Our Past” by visiting History Hall at the library, showcasing the communities of Findlay Township, North Fayette Township and Oakdale Boro. A display case located near the entrance to the library was donated to display some of the historical artifacts that were donated by area residents and highlight some of the historical aspects of our area.
